Stacey Solomon reveals she and fiancé Joe Swash want to marry in garden of £1.2million dream home

She has been planning her dream wedding since her fiancé Joe Swash popped the question on Christmas Eve.

And Stacey Solomon revealed how her plans are ‘on hold’ because the couple want to see if they’re able to tie the knot in the garden of their new home, Pickle Cottage.

The presenter, 31, appeared on Lorraine on Monday and spoke to stand-in Cat Deeley where she said both herself and Joe, 39, were looking into seeing if it was possible and if they could get a marriage license.

Stacey and Joe moved into the countryside mansion last month, alongside their son Rex, 22 months, and her boys Leighton, eight, Zachary, eleven.

Speaking about her plans have been halted, the former X Factor star said: ‘We had the venue and we didn’t know we were going to move here. We saw the house and thought, “Let’s go for it”.’

Stacey added: ‘Now we’re here, we’d actually like to get married in the garden. We’re trying to see if we can do that. We don’t know if we’ll be able to get a license and stuff. The wedding planning is a bit on halt at the moment.

‘It’s all just come at once, so many of these things have been in the planning for years… I feel so lucky, privileged and grateful and I just think you have to take any opportunity when it comes.’

The stunning property could be the perfect wedding venue as the garden has a sprawling 2.5 acres of land and comes complete with a swimming pool, Wendy house, huge willow tree and abundant flower beds.

During the interview, Stacey also talked about how Joe ignored her when ITV’s The Masked Singer was aired because he thought she was the character Sausage, who later turned out to Joss Stone.

The Loose Women star said, who was on Lorraine to talk about her BBC decluttering show, Sort Your Life Out, said: ‘He didn’t talk to me for three Saturdays because he genuinely thought I was the sausage in The Masked Singer and he thought I hadn’t told him.’

Last month, Stacey revealed that she won’t take her fiancé Joe’s last name when married as she wants to have the same surname as her children.

Stacey, who was set to marry Joe during a ‘small’ ceremony in July, admitted that she could be persuaded to have a double-barrelled last name.

The Loose Women star also admitted that she is trying to ‘stay positive’ during planning amid the current Covid restrictions surrounding marriage ceremonies.

Talking to Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2 about her upcoming wedding, the TV personality said: ‘It is a really funny one, obviously Joe would love me to have his second name.

‘Nothing wrong with his second name but because of kids I want to have the same surname as the kids,’ she added: ‘Maybe I will double-barrel it?’

Watch Lorraine on ITV weekdays from 9am.
