Moment a life-sized replica of the Mandalorian starship crashes in Siberia

This is the moment the Razor Crest spaceship crashes in strong winds in Siberia, footage shows.

The Russian climate was too much for a life-size replica of the iconic starship from The Mandalorian, the Star Wars spinoff series.

The one-tonne model – 46ft (14m) in length – came a cropper in Yakutsk, the world’s coldest city, in a sudden hurricane-like gust as the Empire Struck Back.

There were no casualties when the 13ft (4m) high gunship – used by bounty hunter Din Djarin to roam the galaxy – was destroyed in a temperature of minus 15C.

Cosplayer Ayaal Fedorov and his co-creators had unveiled the homemade model costing £7,300 ($10,000) in March.

Fedorov said the intense wind had almost upended his car before laying waste to the starship.

‘Of course, we will not give up, and I think that many people will support us,’ he said.

‘Everything will be fine,’

At the time, he said: ‘At the beginning of 2020, the pandemic hit.

‘We, as Star Wars fans, and in particular, The Mandalorian fans, decided to create Razor Crest, knowing that no-one had done it before.

‘Doing the impossible, this was our inspiration.’
