A mother polar bear and one of her cubs appear to burst into a fit of laughter while rolling in the snow at a zoo in Russia.

Eight-year-old Kolymana lives at Orto-Doydu Zoo, the coldest zoo in the world, in Yakutsk, Russia’s largest region.

Now, incredible pictures taken by photographer Natalya Okoneshnikova show Kolymana, who lost her mother in the Arctic at the age of four-months, playing in the snow.

Okoneshnikova said: ‘They were hugging and playing right in front of my camera. Hopefully I managed to share the feeling of love between the mother and the cub.’

She also said that this was the first time she had been able to get so close to the polar to take pictures.

After her mother died, Kolymana was spotted floating on a drifting piece of ice in the Arctic before being rescued by a team from WWF Russia’s Bear Patrol.

She was nursed back to health for several months before being transported to the zoo in Yakutsk where she now lives.

She has since given birth to two cubs, one in 2017 and the other last year.
