Gwyneth Paltrow details her VERY Goop-y morning wellness routine

Gwyneth Paltrow has lifted the lid on her morning wellness and beauty routine, which includes everything from transcendental meditation with her husband Brad Falchuk to slathering on her favorite Goop skincare products.

The 48-year-old lifestyle guru gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at her bathroom as she detailed her typical morning in a new video for Vogue, explaining that she believes ‘beauty and wellness are inextricably linked.’

Gwyneth said she typically starts the day with a healthy smoothie to make sure she has ‘a little protein’ before her morning workout.

‘This one has some nut milk and almond butter and some good quality protein powder,’ she noted, holding her glass up for the camera.

The actress then demonstrated how she dry brushes her entire body using her Goop Beauty G.Tox Ultimate Dry Brush ($20), though she didn’t mention the name of the brand.

‘You just wanna have a dry brush that has a little bit of resistance to it that’s not too soft,’ she said. ‘Basically what you do is start at your toes and you gently brush your skin all the way up the body and always toward the heart.’

She explained it helps with ‘circulation and exfoliation, among other benefits.’

Gwyneth said she follows up her dry brushing with meditation, calling it one of the ‘most critical parts’ of her morning routine. She and her husband Brad, 50, practice transcendental meditation together.

‘It’s a really nice way to start the day, just centered and kind of letting the mind empty out,’ she said.

When it was time for her to start her skincare routine, she used her GOOPGLOW Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator ($125), insisting she ‘can’t live without.’

‘I’m a massive exfoliating junkie,’ she admitted.

Once her skin was exfoliated, she applied Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum ($185), saying it’s an ‘unbelievable serum.’

‘It’s incredible to know that there are clean non-toxic products that are really efficacious and really work wonders on your skin,’ she added.

Gwyneth said that when she has a special occasion (or is battling a hangover) she uses Jillian Dempsey Hydrating Eye Masks ($75).

‘Sometimes I walk around the house with these on. My kids make fun of me,’ she admitted. ‘What else is new.’

While she was wearing her eye masks, she ran the Jillian Dempsey Gold Sculpting Bar ($195) over her skin.

‘It vibrates — don’t get any ideas,’ she joked suggestively.

Gwyneth is known for her dedication to health and wellness, but she insisted she wasn’t that into skincare where she was younger.

‘I was not a person who ever had a skincare routine as a teenager,’ she said. ‘My daughter [Apple] does, but I was very much a tomboy. So this skincare thing has come to me later in life.’

The Goop founder said her mother, actress Blythe Danner, is ‘very low maintenance’ and taught her to just be comfortable with herself.

Moisturizer is a big part of Gwyneth’s skincare routine, and she recommended Weleda Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream ($18.99) for those looking for an affordable drugstore brand that is ‘clean’ and ‘non-toxic.’

The mother of two followed up the moisturizer with Unsun Mineral Tinted Face Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 ($29), noting that conventional sunscreens have ‘harsh chemicals.’

‘I’m not a head-to-toe slatherer of sunscreen,’ she said. ‘I like to put some on my nose and the area where the sun really hits.’

Gwyneth clearly loves moisturizer, and she topped off the sunscreen with her brand’s new GOOPGLOW Lotion for a ‘little pick-me-up.’

‘One thing I’ve really learned as I get well into my forties is how important it is to take good care of your skin from the inside out,’ she said. ‘That means hydration, exercise, breathing fresh air, going for a walk, eating foods that are high in nutritional density.’

Gwyneth likes to stick to the basics, unlike her 16-year-old daughter Apple, who has a developed a talent for makeup artistry.

‘My daughter is very into the beauty world. She knows everything,’ the mom said proudly. ‘She has these amazing long nails that are painted in such a cool way. She’s got her lashes. I mean, she knows how to contour.

‘That girl is just on fire with her routine. I don’t know where she got it from. She definitely did not get it from me. I can barely put on concealer,’ she joked.
