Boy Meets World’s William Daniels credits ‘love and family’ for keeping him going on his 94th birthday

William Daniels, who played the beloved Mr. Feeny on ABC’s Boy Meets World from 1993-2000, revealed his secret to longevity is ‘love and family’ on his 94th birthday.

When asked about how he feels about ringing in another year of life, the two-time Emmy winner quipped it’s ‘better than the alternative’ during an interview with People. 

In addition to maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle, he finds joy in spending time with his wife of nearly 70 years Bonnie Bartlett, kids and grandchildren.

For his birthday, Daniels plans to spend the evening at his local California Pizza Kitchen in Los Angeles as well as filming Cameos with his 57-year-old son, Michael. 

Since joining the US-based platform, which allows users to pay for video shoutouts from their favorite celebrities, he has been ‘amazed’ by all the requests. 

Customized messages from him cost $150 and his average response time is three days.

He has more than 350 five-star reviews, which is not surprising as he clearly takes his recordings very seriously by including sweet antidotes in each one as well as the quote from his character Mr. Feeny: ‘Believe in yourselves. Dream. Try. Do good.’ 

In many of Daniels’ videos, he talks about his longtime love, who he met at  Northwestern University and wed in 1951. 

To fans delight, Bartlett was cast as his spouse on the medical drama St. Elsewhere in the Eighties.

Speaking of their marriage to Forbes in December, he gushed: ‘I think our relationship is based on mutual respect and I think she is smarter than me, better actor than me, and so I just hang on, you know, and try to get along.’ 

‘He doesn’t mean that at all,’ Bartlett interjected after praising how he always makes her laugh and is an excellent father. 

Daniels mused, ‘I’m an actor! I’m making it up as I go along.’
