Perez Hilton ‘punched the lights out’ and ‘went insane’ on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia, former co-star Ryan Gallagher claims

Perez Hilton’s erratic behaviour on reality show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! left his co-stars so unsettled they couldn’t sleep, an ex-contestant claimed this week.

Ryan Gallagher, who starred alongside Hilton on the Channel 10 program last year, alleged the 43-year-old gossip guru exhibited ‘weird’ behaviour in the camp.

Gallagher, 32, told The Real House Husbands Podcast Hilton ‘used to talk to himself and start laughing and s**t’ without explanation.

Bombshell: I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! star Ryan Gallagher, (L) has claimed he had to ‘hide knives’ and begged producers to kick Perez Hilton (R) out of camp during their time in the jungle while on the show last year

Gallagher claimed an on-air argument about food rations escalated way beyond what was shown on television.

‘We were all like, “What the f**k is going on here?” That night they didn’t air half the s**t that happened. I’ll tell you,’ he said.

According to Gallagher. the cast feared Hilton was going to go ‘f**king insane’.

‘I went up there [to producers] and said he has to leave,’ Gallagher said.

‘None of us are going to sleep tonight. He punched the lights out. He was just insane,’ he added.

During the episode that aired on TV, Hilton expressed remorse for his behaviour.

Meltdown: 'I'm not having them disrespect Miguel,' Perez said in a raised tone. 'It's as simple as that. You're being so disrespectful to him. The way you were talking to him was not caring'

Gallagher said he believed his response to Hilton’s erratic behaviour was the reason why he was voted out of the jungle a few days later.

This is because his reaction was shown in the final edit, but Hilton’s actions weren’t.

‘I think that’s why me and Charlotte [Crosby] got voted out,’ he admitted.

Turned for the worst: 'I got a bit agro with Perez and we got into a yelling fight and she looked like a bit of a sourpuss. So I think the public turned on us,' Ryan said of him and Charlotte

Ryan admitted he was less than pleased when he first met Perez, with him taking issue with the gossip guru’s body of work.

Gallagher went on to claim he never liked Hilton because of ‘what he does for a living… he writes nasty things about people.’

‘I’ve had it done about me and its f**ked,’ the Married At First Sight star added.

‘Then I think it was the second night I think he was like, “Ryan I don’t do that anymore. I’m changed.”‘

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Perez Hilton’s representatives for comment.
