Lil’ Kim stuns after Brooklyn Nets halftime performance… 20 YEARS after Lady Marmalade video

Lil’ Kim, 46, rocks a PVC mini-skirt for Brooklyn Nets halftime performance… 20 YEARS after Lady Marmalade smash hit

Lil’ Kim looked beautiful in blue as she exited Barclays Center in a black latex top and matching miniskirt after performing at halftime for the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday.

After taking the stage with some of her classics like Ladies Night and Lighters Up alongside the Brooklynettes, the 46-year-old rapper appeared in high sprits as she left with a bouquet of flowers.

She stayed safe in a sequined blue face mask, which was the same hue as her hair, nails, the sides of her knee-high socks and buckles on her sleeves.

Over the weekend, the star celebrated the 20th anniversary of her 2001 cover of Lady Marmalade with Christina Aguilera, Pink, Missy Elliott and Mýa.

Two decades ago, the women created a cabaret–style music video for the hit track, which earned them a Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals as well as two MTV Video Music Awards for Best Video of the Year and Best Video from a Film.

‘Happy Anniversary, Lady Marmalade ❤️❤️’ Aguilera captioned a photo of herself from the video to Instagram on Saturday.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan about the milestone anniversary, the 40-year-old singer-songwriter said: ‘I think we all brought something unique to the table. The message was awesome, because every woman wants to feel good in their own skin. Every woman wants to own their sexuality—whether you want to put on a corset or not.’

‘Before, to be sexualized meant that you would be labeled, and to own your sexuality meant you would be slut-shamed,’ Aguilera added. ‘As soon as I heard Missy and Rockwilder’s production, it was just like, ‘This is going to be something that feels so good and so right.”

Mya also discussed the video with the outlet and how the experience was ‘very empowering because women are usually pitted against each other, especially in entertainment.’

‘There was none of that, to my recollection. It was truly about coming together, being women, being slightly over the top, expressing ourselves, and exuding our bold approach to being sexual beings,’ recalled the It’s All About Me singer, 41.

Patti LaBelle’s girl group Labelle originally recorded the track in 1974.

The remix was made to showcase each of the ‘four bada** chicks from the Moulin Rouge bringing together their different skills and personas into a true celebration of diversity, talent, and female unity’ according to Elliott, who co-produced the song.’
