Kevin Hart continues filming Netflix drama series True Story with Wesley Snipes: ‘It’s pretty dope!’

Emmy-nominated producer Kevin Hart continued his work producing and starring in Netflix’s eight-episode limited series True Story in Los Angeles on Monday.

Independent Spirit Award nominee Wesley Snipes was also on set portraying Kid’s (Hart) wayward big brother Carlton in the fictionalized drama based on his rise as a comic.

True Story marks the Philadelphia-born 41-year-old’s TV drama debut as part of his lucrative four-picture deal with the streaming giant.  

Kevin and the Florida-born, Bronx-raised 58-year-old opted not to protect themselves and others from the coronavirus by wearing face masks.

As of Tuesday, there have been 1.2M confirmed COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles leading to 23,108 deaths – according to Johns Hopkins University.

‘It’s pretty dope!’ Hart – who boasts 204.2M social media followers – marveled on Monday about the production. 

‘[I’m] responsible for full-fledged productions. Amazing people up underneath, the team, that help me execute properly. It’s not all about the me. It’s about the we.

‘I’d be damned if I don’t have a bunch of f***ing amazing people around me apart of this team, apart of this unit. And we’re about to give the world great content on the regular – HartBeat Productions. Wow. [I] can only say wow, wow!’

On March 8 the Coach Kev star gushed about working with the ‘legendary’ Wesley, writing: ‘We are working on something that is unreal for you guys!’ 

On March 9, Snipes gushed that Kevin was a ‘genius’ who he has ‘mad respect’ for, writing: ‘I told you I had more for y’all! Just wait until you see what we have been working on!’

True Story will also feature Black Lightning’s William Catlett, Star Trek: Lower Decks’ Tawny Newsome, Titanic alum Billy Zane, and Ghosts of War’s Theo Rossi.

Watchmen director Stephen Williams helms the first four episodes while Star Trek Picard director Hanelle Culpepper will helm the final four episodes, according to Deadline.
