Astonished police were forced to stop a driver after they spotted him on the road with no bonnet on his car – and he insisted the car was ‘safe and roadworthy.’
The motorist leaned out of his window and asked ‘Is there a problem officer?’ after he was ordered to pull over in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.

The wrecked vehicle also had no front bumper or number plates – and the driver was found to have no insurance.
After he was ordered to stop in Great Yarmouth, the motorist leaned out of his window and asked: ‘Is there a problem officer?’
He told police he thought the car was in a ‘safe and roadworthy condition’, adding he was driving it home and planned to scrap it the next day.
Norfolk Police seized the car and it was towed away in Great Yarmouth.
In a statement, they said: ‘The driver said it was safe and roadworthy – we had a different opinion and seized it.’

The force posted images of the car to social media, with one person joking they ‘couldn’t see anything wrong with it’.
Others were more shocked, with one saying: ‘How did anyone think this was okay to drive on the road?’
Another said they thought the car had ‘been in accident’ because parts were visibly missing.
