Below Deck’s Alli Dore says cast were barely allowed off yacht during filming

Aussie Below Deck star Alli Dore says the cast were barely allowed off their yacht during filming due to strict COVID restrictions – which resulted in a ‘lot of tears and tantrums’

The second season of Bravo’s Below Deck Sailing Yacht was filmed during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

So it’s no surprise that the cast and crew had to follow strict restrictions during filming.

Speaking to the Unpopular podcast, stewardess Alli Dore said that the cast could barely leave the boat, likening it to a ‘floating bubble’.

‘We very rarely do even get to get off the boat’: Below Deck Sailing Yacht’s Alli Dore described the conditions of filming the show during the pandemic to the Unpopular podcast

‘You are working with your crew all day long and then your downtime is with your crew,’ she said.

‘At least when you get to get off the boat, you can sort of mix with other human beings. We didn’t have that,’ she continued.

‘We very rarely do even get to get off the boat. When we do, we’re isolated in our little bubble. We had very strict protocols for COVID safety that we had to follow.’

While the restrictions were tough on the cast and crew, Alli said that viewers will be happy because it made ‘so much more drama’ than if they’d just the season the normal way.

‘Because I’m a fan of the show, I think about other seasons. Then I think about what we went through as a crew. I’m like, no way any other season can top this amount of drama that we have,’ she boasted.

She added that there were ‘a lot of tears and tantrums’ before jokingly comparing the cast to ‘wild animals’.

‘I’m such a free spirit in general and I can’t help but be true to myself. I’ve lived my life this way. I feel like I’m sort of an enigma in my personality because you can’t pigeonhole me into one category,’ she added.

Alli has already spiced up the latest season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht by hooking up with female co-stars and partying up a storm with her fellow yachties.

The blonde bombshell has locked lips with Sydney Zaruba and Dani Soares, and even offered to sleep with chef Natasha De Bourg during a drunken night on board.

The drama looks set to intensify in upcoming episodes, with a love triangle involving deckhand Gary King.

In one preview, Alli is seen shouting at Sydney: ‘It’s not my f**king fault you and him hooked up! You should be angry at him, not me.’

She later turns to Gary and snaps: ‘I told you that I liked you! This is my moment to get angry, you deserve this!’
