‘How is YOUR night going?’ Rebecca Adlington details difficult night with newborn son Albie as she battles cold and ‘leaky boob’ in candid 3am post

New mother Rebecca Adlington playfully asked her followers how their night was going as she battled a cold and a ‘leaky boob’ during a 3am Instagram post.

The Olympic swimmer, 32, who welcomed son Albie earlier this month, detailed her difficult 12 hours in a refreshingly honest post.

She wrote: ‘It’s 3am, Albie up again feeding. I have a cold and trying so hard not to cough or blow my nose to wake Andy or disturb Albie.

‘My dog Daisy has curled up and gone to sleep under my bedside table. Plus I have a wet patch where my boob has leaked.’

The mother-of-two hilariously signed off her post by asking fans: ‘How’s your night going?’

Albie is Rebecca’s first baby with boyfriend Andrew Parsons. She is also mother to daughter Summer, five, from her marriage to Harry Needs.

Rebecca recently revealed she is more confident at being a mum following the birth of her second child, after her eldest, ‘brought out the maternal side in me’.

She added that she’s ‘a bit more at ease in general’ now she’s settled into life as a mother of two.

Discussing how she’s changed as a mother, she told Hello! magazine: ‘I am a bit more at ease in general. When I had Summer it completely transformed me as a person and brought that maternal side out in me.’

Meanwhile, Rebecca revealed how infatuated she is with her boy after fearing she wouldn’t love him as much as she did Summer.

She explained: ‘I was worried I wouldn’t love him as much as I did Summer, but as soon as he was born, I loved him so much. It has just been so lovely.’

But Rebecca isn’t the only one obsessed with the new arrival as she added that Summer is ‘besotted’ by her baby brother.

She said: ‘She is just besotted by him. It’s so cute. I always knew she was going to be good with Albie; she is very loving and has got a natural maternal instinct about her. She gives him a kiss and always says goodbye to him before she goes to school.’

Meanwhile, Rebecca told how Albie’s birth was ‘straightforward’, explaining how he arrived just ‘two hours’ after she arrived at the hospital in labour.

Despite a seemingly easy birth, the same couldn’t be said for her partner Andy, with the star recalling how his hand was left ‘crippled’ with pain after she’d squeezed it so hard.

Rebecca and Andrew have been dating since January 2018 after they met through the dating app Bumble and moved in together last summer.

The couple revealed their baby’s arrival with a sweet Instagram snap on the tot earlier this month. Rebecca penned the caption: ‘Welcome to the world Albie Bennett Parsons. 4.3.21.’

It has not been the easiest journey for the Nottinghamshire native, as she previously revealed in November that she was left unable to walk when she fell down the stairs and injured her ankle.

The blonde told how she was ‘in pain and swollen’ after a particularly hard week and explained she fell down ‘some steps’ on to her ankle.

Rebecca also spoke about the difficulties of having a child amid the coronavirus pandemic, confessing that she felt ‘disconnected’ from others due to current restrictions, and was terrified at the prospect of welcoming her child alone.
