Jodie Comer has her hands full as she carries a printer while shopping with brother Charlie

She’s gearing up to play Russian assassin Villanelle one more time after BBC bosses confirmed the fourth season of Killing Eve will be its last.

But actress Jodie Comer had other things on her mind as she ventured out with her brother Charlie in their native Liverpool on Wednesday.

The British star, 28, appeared to have her hands full as she made her way out of a local Sainsbury’s branch carrying a large printer.

A promotional video shared on the programme’s social media account also revealed that filming will begin again this summer.

Filming of the new series was previously halted due to the coronavirus pandemic, which restricted filmed over the show’s various European locations.

Producers hoped to begin filming in August, little more than two months after season three’s finale teased fans with an ambiguous cliff-hanger on London’s Tower Bridge.

However, original plans to push ahead with a new series were scuppered due to the current health crisis.

According to Deadline at the time there was no ‘clear return date’, until now.

The publication reported the show’s production company, Sid Gentle Films, had ‘abandoned their plans and was yet to set a restart date for later that year’ due to Killing Eve’s ‘jigsaw of European location shoots’.

To date, the drama has been shot in the likes of Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bucharest and Tuscany.

There was added complication due to actress Sandra Oh needing to fly to the UK from the United States to join Jodie and the rest of the cast, before embarking on further travel further afield.

‘Due to the uncertainty of the world as a result of COVID-19, no shooting schedules for Killing Eve season four have been locked in at this point and there are various scenarios in play.’

Killing Eve ordinarily shoots in the summer through to the end of autumn and returns to screens in the spring.
