B*Witched singer Edele Lynch reveals an ‘angry’ neighbour threatened her with a CHAINSAW

Edele Lynch has revealed an ‘angry’ neighbour once threatened her with a chainsaw when she asked him to move a bathroom suite from her garden.

The B*Witched singer, 41, explained that the altercation happened while she was moving into a three-bedroom house after going back to Ireland in 2001.

Speaking on the Irish band’s Starting Over with BWitched podcast, Edele recalled how the ‘angry’ neighbour was not impressed with her request and went ‘mental’.

Edele detailed how she’d asked her neighbour to move his ‘bathroom suite’ from her garden to ensure that it wouldn’t be damaged when ‘worker men’ came over.

Talking with former bandmates Lindsay Armaou and Sinéad O’Carroll about their readjustment to life after the group was ended, Edele said: ‘It was crazy time. I moved back to Ireland and I bought my first home. In fact, it’s a little bit funny story.

‘The first home I bought, it was a three-bedroom house, which I absolutely loved and I dressed it up to exactly how I wanted it to be.

‘And just before I moved in, the neighbour who was moving in beside us – he had moved his bathroom into my garden, so I was like “eh”. I had worker men coming.

‘So I said “can you move the bathroom because I’ve worker men coming and I don’t want to break your bathroom suite” and he was like “excuse me?”

‘And he got really annoyed, he got so annoyed. He got so angry that he went back into the house and he came out with a chainsaw turned the bloody thing on and came at me and my dad with it going absolutely mental.’

Edele added that she didn’t even care that he’d placed the suite in her garden, she just didn’t want it to be damaged.

She said: ‘I didn’t mind it there, but I had people coming in and out and I didn’t want to break his bathroom suite because you’re going to hold me responsible.’

Laughing about the situation with 20 years hindsight, Edele added: ‘So that was a notice from above that I must not move into this house. Needless to say, I never moved in there.’

Edele’s bandmates sounded shocked by the revelations, with all three women joking about how wild the story was.

And although this home didn’t work out for her, Edele soon found somewhere she loved even more to live.

She told how she used to always pass a place in Howth that she loved and would dream about owning an apartment in the building, until one day her dad told her she probably could afford it after making money from the band.

She explained: ‘There was one apartment that wasn’t for sale but my cousin said I’d love it and we spoke to the owners… I fell in love and they sold it to me.

‘It just goes to show that if you step forward to something that seems like an impossibility, you just don’t know what doors will open.’

The trio chatted about their time in the band and going back to normal life after fame on the podcast, however fourth member Keavy wasn’t on the recording.

Keavy, who is Edele’s twin, recently welcomed twins herself with husband Nathaniel Comer – a son and a daughter called Felix and Elàna.
