University lecturer slams Amazon’s excessive packaging after packets of carrot seeds were delivered in FIVE separate cardboard boxes

A University lecturer has slammed Amazon after his order of five packets of carrot seeds arrived in five separate huge boxes.
Dr Robin Pettitt, a lecturer in politics at the University of Kingston in London took to Twitter to reveal the shocking amount of excess packaging.
The academic said he’d bought five packs of the seeds as his daughter ‘love carrots’ but was shocked when they arrived with so much packaging.
‘Hi @amazon, I appreciate good packaging as much as anyone, but this is perhaps a little excessive (although, once shredded the compost will be delighted)’ he added.

The tweet quickly racked up dozens of replies with many saying they were ‘disappointed’ but ‘not surprised’.
‘Were they special carrots that were fully grown on despatch, but regressed into the packet?’ one joked
‘Seriously? That’s absolutely insane! There can literally be no justification for this, surely?’ said another.
‘Incredible (and at the same time disappointingly believable) scenes.
‘Reminds me of the time I received a replacement lens cap in box big enough for me to sleep in – but at least that was only one box,’ added a third.

Robin’s experience is the latest in a long line of Amazon customer who have complained about excessive packaging when ordering products.
Previously, an Amazon customer criticised the online retailer for delivering a tiny button battery in packaging the size of a shoe box.
While another complained when they ordered a wall calendar which came complete with 45 feet of paper packaging.
The customer said she expected the A2-sized Collins calendarto arrive in a jiffy bag or an envelope.
On another occasion, wheelchair user Catrina Farnell had to struggle across the road in Steeton, West Yorkshire, to pick up a tiny rosette which could easily have been pushed through the door, but which had arrived in a far larger package.
The online giant vowed to stop using huge cardboard boxes to send small items in 2016, but the problem has continued to occur.
