‘How many years does the child have with its father?’ Peter Andre points out ‘sad reality’ of Channel 4’s Jon Snow, 73, welcoming a baby with his wife, 46

Peter Andre has spoken about the ‘sad reality’ of news presenter Jon Snow having a child with his wife at the age of 73.

The Channel 4 broadcaster and his wife Dr Precious Lunga, 46, had a baby boy with a surrogate earlier this month after ‘numerous medical setbacks and miscarriages’.

Writing in his column for new! magazine, Peter, 48, admitted he thinks he would find it hard being a teenager with a father in his nineties.

He wrote: ‘Channel 4 News presenter Jon Snow has welcomed a baby boy with his wife at the age of 73.

‘Any news of a baby is lovely, but I guess the sad reality is how many years does the child have with its father?

‘If I was 18 and my dad was 91, I’d find that hard. On the flip side you could have a baby at 20 and something could happen to you at 25.’

Peter admitted he had never given the situation much thought before and was struggling to think of having a child after 50.

The Mysterious Girl singer is father to Junior, 15, and Princess, 13, with his ex wife Katie Price while he shares Amelia, seven, and Theodore, four, with his wife Emily.

Peter previously revealed he and Emily, who he married in 2015, may have another child in the future.

He told The Sun Online: ‘Here I was trying to get my head around the thought of having one more child, but then Emily throws a bombshell on me of having two more children.

‘So now I’m really confused about what she wants. Before it was a definite no no, but now there’s a big possibility.’

However, the hitmaker added if it’s going to happen it would need to be this year as he doesn’t want to be changing nappies at 50.

It comes after Jon said he and Precious were ‘delighted’ to announce their child arrived safely on March 2.

In a statement, Jon, who has two older daughters from his first marriage to former partner Madeleine Colvin, 64, said: ‘In our desire to seal our now 11 years of marriage with a baby, my wife suffered numerous medical setbacks and miscarriages.

‘Consequently, we will always be deeply grateful to our surrogate, who carried our embryo to term.

‘Amid these challenging times, we feel doubly blessed to be able to celebrate our good fortune.’

Proving that age is no barrier to love, he married Zimbabwean-born academic Precious in March 2010.
