  • Men, who carried handcuffs and fake warrant cards, then stole £20,000 in cash

Police have launched an appeal to find three masked men who posed as police officers to steal £20,000 in cash during a terrifying home raid.

The fake cops claimed they were investigating tax evasion and money laundering when they forced their way inside a property in Croydon, south London, last October.

One resident was forced to the ground and restrained with cable ties after those at the address became suspicious of the men and challenged their motive.

The suspects, who wore black baseball caps with ‘police’ on, had demanded money and threatened to ‘tear the place apart’ if they weren’t told where it was kept.
