‘I was just non stop eating junk food for 12 weeks. I’d have dinner and then go for a drive-thru straight away afterwards. My appetite went crazy but it’s coming back down now though which is good. ‘

The star also discussed her current soap storyline mirroring her real life, saying: ‘It was a strange time I found out I was pregnant and knew I was going back to film being pregnant.

‘I was more stressed as it was at the forefront of my mind. I told the bosses early on. My character’s endometriosis story was important to me. I didn’t want it to be put on hold. She is diagnosed this week, and that’s where the complications come from.’

Louisa, who got engaged to Ben in 2019, said the pair have now cancelled their wedding as they focus on the pregnancy amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

She said: ‘We have cancelled it. I said let’s stop trying and now officially it could go ahead but it’s too late now, it’s all gone out of the window!’

Last week, Louisa and Ben revealed they are expecting their first child, as she took to Instagram on Mother’s Day to make the announcement with a sweet video.

Scored with Stevie Wonder’s classic track As, the screen star’s fun-filled footage showed the card she’d sent to her own mother, which read: ‘Just a little note to say, there’s a baby on the way’, as well as flashing her burgeoning bump.

In her latest post, Louisa shared a video from 1961 film One Hundred and One Dalmatians, in which the character Rolly is lying on the floor saying: ‘I’m hungry, Mother. I’m hungry’, to which Perdita says: ‘Now Rolly, you’ve just had your dinner.’

It seems the actress was alluding to the fact she felt the same as the pup, who responded: ‘But I am, just the same. I’m so hungry I could eat a a whole elephant.’

In her accompanying caption, she penned: ‘First trimester. I’ve never felt hunger like it. I think every 5-10 minutes in fact on average I think I ate 56 Mc Ds and 74 pizzas a week. I couldn’t stop. Poor Ben would make a whole roast dinner on a Sunday…

‘Then I’d be queuing at a drive thru 30 minutes later. And CHEESE, I carried cathedral cheese bites around in my pocket at work to eat behind a set wall when no one was watching. The only way to describe it was a 24/7 7 day a week hangover…

‘The only thing that would subside the sickness was salt and ketchup. Now I know I’m lucky I could stomach food, I know some people simply can’t?…

‘I felt such guilt, how could I give this baby such a terrible start. I’m out the other side now, and I wish I just relaxed a bit more and didn’t cry into every portion of chips…

‘I’ve had a lot of people ask about my experience of the first few months, all I can think of is the UberEats man at the door…

‘So I wanted to share and ask, PLEASE TELL ME I WAS NOT ALONE? Love you all, thanks SO much for the wonderful messages it really means a lot’.

Louisa shared a picture of her trying on a bridal dress as she wrote on Instagram: ‘Going to try on wedding dresses feels like a lifetime ago. My mum came to every appointment.

‘I loved every dress. She chose the winner. (This ISN’T it) My dress is still in the shop as I feel so anxious about collecting it?

‘Not knowing if I’ll even be wearing it this year? Brides . . How are you feeling? Are you still counting on 2021 for your big day or are 2022 new dates being discussed? (sic)’.

The actress – who plays Ruby Allen on the BBC soap – recently admitted she and Ben will postpone their nuptials if they cannot have ‘the exact wedding’ they want.
