Helena Bonham Carter, 54, gazes adoringly at boyfriend Rye Dag Holmboe, 33, on walk

She’s been in dating the academic for 17 months, marking her first relationship in five years.

And Helena Bonham Carter still appeared head over heels in love with her boyfriend Rye Dag Holmboe as they enjoyed a cosy walk with her pet dog in north London on Monday.

The actress, 54, gazed adoringly at her lover, 33, as they linked arms during their romantic stroll across the English capital.

Cutting a typically edgy figure, the Crown star teamed a padded jacket with a black patterned skirt, a blouse and a checked scarf.

The Burton & Taylor icon toted her reading glasses on her head, while her tresses were worn in a bun.

Rye styled a longline coat with a striped shirt, black trousers and chunky black boots. 

The couple first went public with their romance in October 2019, five years after she split from long-term partner Tim Burton after 13 years together.  

The film executives are parents to 16-year-old son Billy and 12-year-old daughter Nell. 

TV and film star Helena previously credited the writer for being ‘a bit of unexpected magic in my life’.

The thespian had a famously unconventional 13-year relationship with director Tim, 62, as they lived in two adjourning houses in London.

On finally moving on from the American animator, the Enid star – who previously dated Irish actor Kenneth Branagh between 1994 and 1999 – admitted she grew tired of ‘grieving’ their relationship, and now leads a ‘happy’ life with her boyfriend. 

Helena told Harper’s Bazaar UK: ‘You break up, you grieve, you get bored of grieving.

‘And then you finally move on. I’m very happy with someone else. It’s been a bit of unexpected magic in my life.’
