Police find body in woods during hunt for missing Amy Springer, 20, whose disappearance from home three days ago was described as ‘out of character’

Detectives searching for a woman who vanished three days ago today found a body in woodland they believe to be her. 

Vulnerable Amy Springer, 20, was reported missing from her home in Hove, East Sussex, on Friday, the Argus newspaper reported. 

Officers searched the woods near Portslade Cricket Club in Benfield Valley, Portslade today, and have found a body they believe to be her.

The force said: ‘Although formal identification is yet to take place the body is very sadly believed to be that of Amy and her next of kin have been informed. There are no suspicious circumstances and the coroner’s officer is continuing enquiries.’

Police have now left the area, which was cordoned off this afternoon.
