Easter egg favourites hit by 10% shrinkflation: Popular chocolates are falling in size but not in price

  • Experts say ‘shrinkflation’ driven by more demand for cocoa and reduced yields
  • Fear in the future that quality may drop as confectioners forced to tweak recipes
  • Cadbury’s big Crunchie and Creme Egg Easter Eggs fallen 10 per cent in weight

Some of the nation’s favourite Easter eggs have been hit by ‘shrinkflation’, with the sizes falling, but not the price.

They fear in future that quality may drop as confectioners are forced to tweak ingredients to cope.
