Shortly afterwards Holly, 40, who is an M&S brand ambassador, shared the frock with her 7.1million followers. 

It has sold out online in three ‘regular’ sizes and is almost sold out entirely in the specialist ‘short’ and ‘long’ styles. 

It is also available in some M&S stores which remain open if they contain an M&S Food Hall.

One excited fashion fan commented: ‘Bought this yesterday – fits really well & looks great with trainers and sandals #bringonthesunshine.’

A second posted: ‘Just saw & felt (cause I like to feel before buying which is impossible at mo) this dress. feels lovely & looks pretty.’

Another wrote: ‘Waited a long time for M&S to go back to doing the lovely dresses they used to sell.’ 

This Morning presenter styled the dress with a chic pair of wedge espadrilles. 

On the website the M&S model is seen wearing a pair of simple strap sandals. She also cinched her waist with a simple brown leather belt. 

Shoppers also said the dress is ‘perfect’ with a pair of white trainers.
