Strictly professional Karen Hauer leaves fans in awe as she shows off her washboard abs

She’s no stranger to having all eyes on her as one of the talented professionals on Strictly Come Dancing.

And Karen Hauer sent her Instagram followers into meltdown as she showed off her incredible washboard abs in a snap posted to her page on Thursday.

The dancer, 38, showcased her toned midriff in a Reebok crop top and hotpants as she dried herself off with a towel after a workout on her exercise bike in her London home.

Karen’s photo caused quite a stir, with one social media user declaring: ‘Wow your abs are unreal.’

‘Karen-abs-Hauer’ joked one of Karen’s fans. ‘Abs are unreal,’ said another, with a third person echoing: ‘Great abs.’

Another social media user gushed: ‘Those abs!’ and a sixth hilariously quipped: ‘Abs just like mine.’

The Venezuelan dancer is a fitness fanatic and often hosts workouts on Instagram, inviting her followers to work up a sweat with her.

She has also joked in the past that her washboard abs are down to having to ‘carry around’ the male celebrities she’s partnered with on the BBC dance show.

Karen hilariously said that training her partners ‘becomes a whole workout in itself’.

She told The Sun last year: ‘When I start Strictly I always lose a lot of weight. I am constantly on my feet and I am sweating.

‘Plus at the start I have the weight of a whole other person’s body that I am having to carry around as I teach them what they’re doing. Training them becomes a whole workout in itself and it keeps me so fit.’

Karen – who split from her opera singer boyfriend David Webb, 36, last year – recently admitted she finds it ‘hard’ living alone and also revealed that she ‘didn’t like herself’ at times.

The professional dancer spoke candidly earlier this month about spending time on her own during lockdown and the effect it’s had on her mental health.

She said on FUBAR Radio about doing online classes to keep busy: ‘You know, there’s so many amazing things out there that people can do and that people can have access to.

‘Like I said, it’s great for everyone’s mental well-being because being, I mean, I’m living alone now and it’s hard. It’s so hard.

‘You wake up to see yourself in the mirror and you have to put up with yourself, you know, 24 hours a day and you’re like, “oh my god, I didn’t know I didn’t like myself sometimes, I’m annoying”!

She added: ‘But to be able to go out and expend the energy and kind of, you know, communicate with people at a different level, it feels good.

‘And it feels nice and it feels like you’re actually giving back to the community.’

The professional dancer and David ended their romance in September after a two year relationship.

The pair sparked reconciliation rumours in February when they were spotted on a low-key dog walk together.

It is not known whether it was a chance meeting or an arranged reunion. The ex couple share dogs Betty, Marley and Phoebe together.

In an interview with OK! Magazine, Karen has insisted she is embracing single life and added it is incredibly hard to get back into dating due to the pandemic.

Talking about her love life, she said: ‘At the moment I’m just at home relaxing. There’s no way of dating right now. I’m dating my three dogs.

‘For me I need to feel the connection with someone right away. I’d feel really weird dating someone from an app. I’m very old school.’

Karen added she finds dating apps ‘impersonal’ and would much rather meet someone in everyday life.
