Married At First Sight: Nasser Sultan blasts ‘fame hungry’ 2021 cast

Married At First Sight EXCLUSIVE: Nasser Sultan takes a swipe at the ‘fame hungry’ cast who already have blue ticks on Instagram (despite it taking him YEARS to get his)

Just three weeks after the premiere of Married At First Sight’s eighth season, several cast members have already been awarded ‘blue tick’ verification on Instagram.

And this development has enraged outspoken season five groom Nasser Sultan, who infamously lobbied for years to get a blue tick before being granted one.

In an exclusive video for Daily Mail Australia, Nasser, 52, said he was furious the 2021 participants had been verified by Instagram so quickly.

‘I’m highly disappointed and very, very angry today,’ he said.

‘I had to campaign for two years to get my blue tick, and even crashed the Blue Tick Office [Facebook’s Australian headquarters] and demanded for my blue tick.

‘I even did community service by [taking] one-dollar selfies, shaking hands and kissing babies.’

Verified: As far, Coco Stedman (pictured) , Cameron Dunne, Samantha Harvey, Beth Moore, Russell Duance and Booka Nile are the only participants verified on the platform

He added: ‘Knowing, this morning, that these infidels that have been on TV for five minutes have already started to get the blue ticks, gets me very, very angry.’

Nasser, who made headlines in 2018 for a desperate attempt to get a blue tick, then called on Prime Minister Scott Morrison to investigate the matter.

As of Thursday, Coco Stedman, Cameron Dunne, Samantha Harvey, Beth Moore, Russell Duance and Booka Nile have been verified on Instagram.

Being verified on Instagram comes with a host of algorithmic benefits, as also makes an account more attractive to potential advertisers.

While several 2021 cast members do have blue ticks, they won’t be able to cash in with sponsored posts for the time being because Nine’s publicity department has control of their accounts.

Married At First Sight continues Sunday at 7:30pm on Channel Nine
