The main property has 7,100 sq ft of accommodation with 14 en suite bedrooms, a self-contained two-bedroom apartment/family suite, as well as kitchen, bar, dining room, sitting room and office.
The property has panoramic views over the whole of Mevagissey bay and miles of open sea. It is in a convenient spot for access into and out of the popular fishing village.
Dominic Skerry, from Lillicrap Chilcott, said: ‘The rarity of this one is that it offers something which a lot of people dream of having and never get the chance to own.

‘It has private steps down to the beach, which is such a rare thing to get even in Cornwall where we are blessed with quite a few beaches.
‘The current owners did a deal with the council that they allowed public access to the beach and in return the council maintain the footpath and steps down.
‘It’s not one of the busier beaches because you have to walk to it, it’s only really used by locals.
‘But the new owners could fence the steps off and then they would be the only ones to have access to it. It’s about half a mile of beach.
‘The people who run the hotel have had it quite a long time and are looking to retire.

‘It has been a private residence before and was built as one so it would probably be possible to get planning permission to go back to a private residence.
‘If you didn’t want to run it as a hotel you could rent it out as a holiday let and make a sizable income from that. They have kept it very nicely and carried out a refurbishment programme every winter.
‘It’s quite a grand-looking house, it sits high on the cliff with a lovely view right up the coast. The property has got really nice features – lovely fireplace, stained glass, mullioned windows.
‘In the dining room there are old ship timbers that have been used to create the beamed ceiling. You feel like you have walked into a ship, it’s quite special.
‘If you look at it as a total package – 9,500 sq ft is a lot of accommodation, to have that on a clifftop setting in three acres with ownership of a beach – it’s incredible. There aren’t many properties like this.’
