Strictly’s Graziano Di Prima reveals he has postponed his wedding to Giada Lini for a second time

EXCLUSIVE: ‘It has been a nightmare’: Strictly’s Graziano Di Prima reveals he has postponed his wedding to fiancée Giada Lini for a second time amid the Covid-19 pandemic

Graziano Di Prima has been forced to postpone his upcoming wedding to fiancée Griada Lini for a second time due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Strictly Come Dancing star, 26, and his other half originally planned to tie the knot last July before lockdown forced them to delay their plans.

Graziano is currently in his native Italy and told MailOnline the couple have now decided to delay their special day again until next year, calling it ‘a nightmare’.

He said: ‘The wedding was supposed to be last year, the third of July. Then we postponed for this year.

‘Obviously, we still have the pandemic and here in Italy, we are struggling. They are closing everything. The whole nation is a red zone.

‘We decided to postpone because we want our wedding to be the best day that we have been dreaming about. If there is not the right opportunity to do as best as we can, why lose this day? We don’t want to rush.’

Graziano told how he and Griada, who recently celebrated five years together, are already like ‘husband and wife’ but said the fact they have to keep delaying their ceremony is ‘hurting’.

With Covid cases currently rising in Italy, the professional dancer admitted he is unsure when Giada’s family will be able to travel to Sicily, as they live in the north of the country.

He said: ‘This is the best choice we can make. She’s from the north and I’m from the south. We are going to do the wedding in Sicily because it’s going to be summer.

‘We don’t know if Giada’s family can come down to Sicily because for now, it’s the red zone. It’s going to be next year but we don’t know exactly when.’

Graziano, who joined Strictly in 2018, said the pair are going to have a large wedding as there are 120 attendees coming from just his extended family alone.

They will tie the knot in a castle in the dancer’s hometown with Graziano revealing his fiancée has been just as frustrated by the delays as him.

He said: ‘She would say, “why are we so unlucky? This should be our best day.” But you know, health first. Then everything else.

‘We are aware the pandemic is in the world and it’s the best choice to postpone. She’s always been behind me.’

Speaking about his family, the dancer added: ‘My family is a unit, really together. When I said to them, “we are thinking about postponing the wedding again,” of course they were upset but at the same time, they understand.’

Graziano has kept busy during lockdown by hosting online dance classes as theatres remain shut.

He said: ‘I think next year is the one [for the wedding] because it has been a nightmare. The only positive thing I’ve got are the online classes I’m doing.

‘That’s something I really look forward to everyday and realise how much love the Strictly fans give to us. This process has been helping me a lot, mentally and physically.’

Graziano told how the whole cast of Strictly Come Dancing are in ‘the same place’ and are all looking forward to the end of the pandemic.

He said: ‘I’m always connected with Johannes [Radebe], he called me yesterday. All of us, we are in the same place. We are waiting and praying that soon this is going to be over.

Everyone who works in the theatres, it’s tough. We have to pay bills and mentally, it’s really hard. I really hope that it’s going to over soon.’
