Kanye West’s ex-bodyguard Steve Stanulis recalls the time he was allegedly fired by the rapper over a minor incident involving his estranged wife Kim Kardashian in 2016

Kanye West’s former bodyguard Steve Stanulis has opened up about working with the singer and his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian, in a new interview.

On Wednesday, Steve spoke on The Kyle and Jackie O Show about how he was allegedly fired by the rap artist in 2016 – a move he claims was because he asked Kim a question before an event in New York City.

Recalling his claims, Steve said: ‘I was working the week of The Met Gala, and we heard about 25 minutes before we were supposed to leave that [Kim and Kanye] were looking for a better car.

‘I had to go up and tell them that we can’t get a car in that amount of time, so I happened to go up and Kim answered.’

Steve said he briefly spoke to Kim, and told her they were unable to get the vehicle in such a small space of time – before they were joined by Kanye, now 43.

‘Then he happened to turn the corner. He saw me there, and I said “what’s up Mr West?”. He walked by, shut the door on my face and that was my last day,’ Steve added.

‘So he really didn’t like you talking to his wife at all?’ Kyle said, to which Steve replied: ‘I guess not!’

At the time, the story was widely reported by numerous media outlets.

His new interview comes just days after Steve claimed he is mulling offers from two streaming studios to detail his time working with the musical superstar.

He told Page Six last Monday that the studios pursuing him ‘see this as a 48 Hours for real or a Lethal Weapon for real,’ about his experiences with the Grammy winner.

Steve, a one-time for the NYPD and Chippendales dancer, said that ‘every day was a new adventure’ amid his ‘two separate times’ working for the musician in 2016.

‘There are a ton of stories I haven’t told,’ he said, referring to events that occurred in New York City including on the set of Saturday Night Live, at the Met Gala and New York Fashion Week. ‘I was one of his favorite guys.’

The pair had a stormy relationship, trading legal threats, which Steve said will likely be a starting point for a creative project.

‘It starts off with $30 million lawsuit, and works backwards, with all the craziness,’ He said. ‘Why not address the elephant in the room? They threatened to sue me two separate times – once back in the day, and then on a podcast this year.’
