Gwen Stefani offers to make Ellen DeGeneres her maid of honor and chats ‘happy’ fifth studio album

Three-time Grammy winner Gwen Stefani offered to make Ellen DeGeneres her maid of honor whenever she eventually weds her fiancé of five months, Blake Shelton.

‘I was picturing you in, like, a mauve, like, bridesmaid [dress]. Maybe maid of honor, you know?’ the 51-year-old bride-to-be said on Wednesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

‘We could put some extensions in and we can do – make it full, like, full flower arrangements. All that stuff.’

The 63-year-old comedian replied that she loved Gwen so much that she’d wear anything and put extensions in her hair.

For their duet Nobody But You, Stefani and the 44-year-old country crooner are nominated for the music event of the year trophy at the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards, which air April 18 on CBS.

The three-minute lovefest marked the inseparable couple’s third song together after Go Ahead And Break My Heart in 2016 and You Make It Feel Like Christmas in 2017.

‘Blake Shelton has 27 No. 1 radio hits. I never, in my wildest dreams, would imagine being part of that,’ Gwen gushed.

‘And to be on a song that goes number one in a genre that I have no business being part of twice and now up for these awards, it’s pretty monumental and exciting and unexpected.’

Stefani was on the daytime talk show to promote the second single – Slow Clap – off her upcoming fifth studio album.

‘This record is really going to be full of joy and good vibes and uptempo and happy and just about having a good time and being nostalgic. So I’m really excited to share it with everybody,’ the former No Doubt frontwoman teased.

‘[My producers/songwriters and I] ended up hopping on Zooms and writing all these songs. And it was just kind of ideal. And within eight weeks I think I had 20 songs…And doing it on Zoom while the kids are, like, in school in the next room was just incredible.’
