Stacey Solomon wants pregnant friend Mrs Hinch ‘to be a bridesmaid at her wedding’ in July

Stacey Solomon is busy planning a summer wedding after her fiancé Joe Swash proposed over Christmas.

And the Loose Women star, 31, reportedly wants her pregnant best friend Sophie Hinchliffe – aka Mrs Hinch – to be a bridesmaid on the big day.

The pair, who share a love of cleaning, became firm friends after they connected following the birth of Sophie’s first son, Ronnie, 21 months.

Sophie, 30, is now expecting her second child but that hasn’t deterred Stacey from involving her in her wedding plans.

A source speaking to Heat magazine said: ‘They’ve grown very close in the last year. Sophie knows Stace inside out and would be honoured to be at her side on her special day.

‘But Stacey is naturally a little nervous that there could still be hiccups on the way out of lockdown – plus, of course, Sophie will have a newborn – so things are still a little up in the air.

‘But whatever happens, Stacey wants her friend to be part of her big day.’

She is keen for her boys, as well as Joe’s son Harry, 13, to play important roles when the couple tie the knot.

This comes after the TV star revealed that she won’t take Joe’s last name when married as she wants to have the same surname as her children.

Stacey, who is set to marry Joe during a ‘small’ ceremony in July, admitted that she could be persuaded to have a double-barrelled last name.

Talking to Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2 about her upcoming wedding, the TV personality said: ‘It is a really funny one, obviously Joe would love me to have his second name.

‘Nothing wrong with his second name but because of kids I want to have the same surname as the kids,’ she added: ‘Maybe I will double-barrel it?’

The interview comes after Stacey revealed that her three sons will give her away with her father at her ‘small’ summer wedding to fiancé Joe.

The presenter also admitted that if the ‘worst comes to the worst’ amid the pandemic restrictions, she will still marry Joe over the summer even if they only have a ceremony of six.

She told Hello!: ‘It’s going really well and I’m really enjoying it, I’m trying to stay as positive as possible. I know the reality of the situation is that we might not even be allowed to get married this year, let alone have the people that we want there.

‘But me and Joe have spoken about it. There are people in our lives who we don’t think we will, unfortunately, have much time left with.

‘So if worst comes to worst, and we can only have a wedding of six, then we will get married with those special people because it’s really important to us to have certain people there.’

Stacey added that they are planning for a ‘small’ wedding with another ceremony once ‘everything’s settled’.

The star admitted that they are waiting to see what the Prime Minister says about weddings before inviting more people.

She also shared that her Loose Women co-stars and pals, which include Nadia Sawalha, Jane Moore, Kaye Adams and Christine Lampard, will all be invited to her bigger ceremony.
