Australian fitness star Kayla Itsines has revealed the ‘all-time favourite’ ab workout she follows to maintain her chiselled physique. 

The 29-year-old from Adelaide, South Australia shared a video with her 17,000 TikTok followers and demonstrated how to do each exercise.

The workout routine incorporates four exercises that only need to be done for a total of 30 seconds each.

In the video Kayla began the two-minute routine by completing a round of bent-leg jackknife leg raises.

For added resistance, she held a dumbbell and brought her knees up to her chest to perform the ab crunch.

Next, with her forearm supporting herself, she held a side plank for 30-seconds, which might be challenging for some.

To maintain her balance Kayla held her opposite arm straight up in the air.

For the remaining two exercises, Kayla completed a round of mountain climbers and another round of half burpees.

KAYLA’S TWO-MINUTES AB WORKOUT ROUTINE:

Do each exercise for 30 seconds: 

Bent-leg jackknife (using a dumbbell if comfortable)

Side plank

Mountain climber

Half burpee

According to Healthline, other exercises that also target the abdomen region include sit-ups, plank twists, bicycle crunches, leg raises and a plank.

But in order to banish unwanted stomach fat fast, it’s recommended to focus on consuming healthy protein and fibre in addition to exercising regularly.

Food with high amounts of nutrients include broccoli, kale, cauliflower, boiled eggs, beans, nuts, seeds and legumes.
