Courtney Love reveals she ‘almost died in hospital from anemia’ in August in lengthy Instagram post

Rockstar Courtney Love has revealed that she almost died last year after suffering from anemia, a condition in which you lack enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to your body’s tissues.

In a lengthy Instagram posted Sunday, Love told fans of her extreme health problems that left her ‘debilitated, in indescribable pain’ last August when she ‘almost died in the hospital from anemia’.

The Hole frontwoman, 56, uploaded a brief Boomerang selfie video to her Instagram feed, showing herself in a striped shirt with sunlight streaming in on one side of the frame.

On Sunday evening: Courtney Love more from her personal life, revealing extreme health problems that left her ‘debilitated, in indescribable pain’ last August when she ‘almost died’

In the lengthy caption, the widow of Kurt Cobain explained that she’s ‘been sad, and extremely sick.

‘Debilitated, in indescribable pain and in August at 97 pounds almost died in hospital from anemia (hemoglobin I had none),’ she continued.

Love then went on to say that she ‘was stigmatized for being an addict for 9 months by many ill-equipped doctors…and quacks,’ before finding an ‘empathic wise pain management doctor.

‘I’m so good now,’ Courtney added, explaining that CBD oil ‘removed ALMOST ALL the physical symptoms’ including her pain.

Later in the post, Courtney thanked her People Vs. Larry Flynt costar Woody Harrelson for showing her ‘the 67 uses of hemp,’ before assuring her 1 million followers that she’s ‘still 100 percent sober by the way.’

Toward the end of the confessional, Courtney wrote, ‘I’ve been basically bedridden. I thought I was broken for sure this time. But I’m ok! So I’m just waking and I’m frail. I’ll be strong again soon!’

Love closed the long caption with a series of hashtags, the first of which perhaps providing a clue as to what made her so ill last year: ‘#crohnsdisease’.

The post comes almost a month after the Doll Parts songstress, who now lives in England, posted a throwback gallery of images from the late ’90s when she spent time in Hollywood as an actress, most notably turning in a Golden Globe-nominated performance as Althea Flynt in 1996’s The People Vs. Larry Flynt.

In the caption to that post, Courtney revealed that she ‘stopped being capable of [acting in Hollywood films] after a bunch of #metoos.’

‘No one would believe me, and it wouldn’t stop,’ she continued.

‘So I left, and it left. And I’m good with it. Maybe, in my next life I’ll be stronger & able to endure it.’

She also said ‘one day I might talk about it’ as she delved into her short career in front of the camera, refraining from going into specifics.

Previously, Courtney was quoted in 2005 while on a red carpet event offering advice to young actresses in the industry.

‘I’ll get libeled if I say it,’ she began. ‘If Harvey Weinstein invites you to a private party in the Four Seasons [hotel], don’t go.’

Harvey co-founded the major studio Miramax with his brother in 1979 and ran it until 2005 when he founded his own, self-titled group, The Weinstein Company.

Gwyneth Paltrow accused Weinstein of assaulting her in a hotel room and is widely credited with helping The New York Times’ Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey uncover multiple accusations of sexual abuse and harassment allegations against him, leading to his eventual conviction.

Elsewhere on her social media, Courtney has thanked Gwyneth for her contribution to making that story public, insinuating that she too has stories to the same effect.
