Victoria Beckham jokes she ‘hadn’t been this close to a carb in ages’

Victoria Beckham shared a hilarious picture of a van number plate which read ‘VB BKRY’ on Saturday as she joked she ‘hadn’t been this close to a carb in ages’.

The fashion designer, 46, poked fun at her strict diets with the snap where the registration looked like the word ‘Bakery’.

She posted a picture of the back of the white Chevrolet van with a California registered number plate on her Instagram story.

Clearly finding the letters hilarious she wrote in the caption ‘Haven’t been this close to a carb in ages’ along with two crying emoji faces.

Victoria is known for always staying in shape and often following rigorous diets. 

Last August she reportedly broke her 20-year no carb rule after husband David impressed her with his homemade pizza skills during lockdown. 

The former footballer, 45, is said to have been experimenting with recipes during the lockdown.

According to reports, Victoria ‘couldn’t get enough’ of David’s homemade pizza after using various different toppings.

Although was claimed that Victoria – who is known for her love of steamed fish and vegetables – was soon ‘back to clean eating’. 

A source told The Sun: ‘Victoria hasn’t touched a carb since 2001. But at the start of lockdown, David started experimenting with recipes — making the dough from scratch and trying various toppings.’

They added: ‘Victoria eventually relented and had a small slice.  

‘Things progressed and, basically, she couldn’t get enough of David’s delicious golden dough balls.’ 

MailOnline contacted the Beckham’s representative for comment at the time.   

It comes after Victoria was celebrated at Thursday’s star-studded Glamour Women Of The Year Awards. 

The pop star turned fashion designer humbly accepted her award in a selfie video, saying: ‘I’m not so sure I deserve to be called a Gamechanger, but it means a tremendous about to me.

Also this week, the beauty revealed that her son Romeo has been training with his dad David’s football team in the hope of becoming a professional.

She  said he ‘ultimately’ hopes to follow in his father’s footsteps by training with the club he co-owns, Inter Miami.

It came after Victoria revealed years earlier that Romeo had decided he wanted to play tennis instead of football, even after signing up for the Arsenal Academy in 2014.

Speaking to Vogue, Victoria revealed Romeo was now dreaming of becoming a professional football player like David, who signed to Manchester United when he was just 17.

She said: ‘Romeo has been training with the team over here every day, because ultimately that’s what he wants to do.’

However the designer insisted she wasn’t going back into ‘football wife mode’ just yet, adding: ‘No, the only reason why I’m wearing my Reebok cap is because I haven’t had time to do my hair.’

In 2014, Romeo and his two brothers Brooklyn, 22, and Cruz, 15, joined the Arsenal Academy, but have all since left.
