The Ukrainian national Rubik’s cube champion who can solve the puzzle in nine seconds has showed how he makes incredible art with the 1970s toy.

Alex Ivanchak, 22, has become a social media sensation by sharing videos of himself making striking Pop Art inspired portraits of famous faces including Leonardo DiCaprio and Elon Musk, using hundreds of Rubik’s cubes.

He’s also made his own versions of classic art, including a stunning Mona Lisa requests taken from fans of sports people and actors such as Robert Downey Jr  and Conor McGregor.

Carefully creating patterns on the cubes, Alex twists the toy to make a intricate designs to match light shapes of the faces before stacking them up on a large wooden panel.

His designs include Messi, Ronaldo, , Billie Eilish, Ron Weasley, Johnny Depp, and Robert Pattison, as well as popular Harry Potter characters such as Hermionie Granger and Severus Snape.     

His videos often have thousands of comments, with people suggesting who to create next and  praising the creative genius.

At only 22, Alex is already a nation champion at Rubik’s  Cube champion, with a record of 9.17 seconds to solve the classic 3x3x3 cube.

He’s also competed on talent shows in his native Ukraine, where he solved the toy underwater while blindfolded.

Talented Alex is also able to solve a 2x2x2 cube in less than 2.5 seconds and 4x4x4 cube in less than a minute.

The current record for the fastest solve of the Rubik’s Cube is currently 3.47 seconds and is held by Yusheng Du from China.
