TOWIE’s Bobby Norris starts his first day as a volunteer vaccinator

Bobby Norris began his first day as a volunteer vaccinator on Tuesday.

The TOWIE legend, 34, wowed fans last month when he revealed he was training to give out the jabs and has delightedly shared an insight into his first day on the job alongside the St John’s Ambulance team at the ExCel Centre in Newham. 

Taking to Instagram to share videos and snaps, he also posted a caption in which he said the role was ‘an honour’ and he was overcome with emotion during the day. 

While many reality stars and influencers have come under fire during the coronavirus pandemic for travelling amid lockdown under the guise of ‘business’, Bobby has been putting his time to amazing use to help others.

After undergoing a lateral flow test on Tuesday, during which he posed for a selfie with his swab, he then threw himself into the task at hand.   

Bobby wrote alongside his post: ‘First day in my new role as a Volunteer Vaccinator. What an honour to be working with the amazing @stjohn_ambulance team at the NHS COVID-19 vaccination centre, Newham…

‘I didn’t realise just how emotional it was going to be meeting people that are so happy to be getting their vaccinations. I’m so grateful to be playing my part in the roll-out of Covid-19 vaccines’. 

Last month, Bobby announced he had become a volunteer NHS worker as he shared an image while posing with a certificate to mark the end of his treatment. 

After overcoming Covid at the turn of the year, he proudly told fans: ‘Today I completed my training as a COVID-19 Volunteer Vaccinator. 

‘This pandemic has affected us all in one way or another and after contracting the virus myself over Christmas and finding out first hand just how awful it really is, I decided that once I was better I wanted to do whatever I could to help others.’

‘I’m really looking forward to getting out there and doing my part in supporting the NHS in the rollout of the vaccine.’

Bobby took his training at Stanstead airport Radisson Blu hotel, where he learned how to inject the vaccine and practised injections using a silicon sponge.

It comes after Bobby previously told how he still had coronavirus symptoms three weeks after testing positive for the virus.

Speaking on FUBAR Radio’s Access All Areas, he said: ‘I’ve honestly never felt so rough in my life. I think some days I was sleeping like twelve, fourteen hours. 

‘But the only good thing about that is that you don’t feel rough when you are asleep. So, I kind of just dealt with it, like I said.’ 

Bobby told his Instagram followers on December 22 he was feeling awful after testing positive, but was still feeling the effects three weeks later. 

He said: ‘I still can’t smell or taste. The headaches were horrendous. Thankfully, I don’t generally suffer from migraines, but I feel so sorry for people that do because I’ve never known, like literally just the throbbing and the drilling headache.

‘And there’s kind of days when, I think by about day five, my breathing started to get quite bad.’
