Mother of the groom wears a white bedazzled bridal gown with SHEER sides to her son’s wedding

Reddit users are shaming a mother of the groom for wearing a bridal gown to her son’s wedding in a seemingly obvious attempt to pull focus from the bride.

An image from the nuptials — which mercifully obscures the identity of the offending mother-in-law — shows the bride dressed in a white less gown with a bedazzled belt as her groom leans in with his arm around her.

The groom’s mother, meanwhile, is on his other side in her own glamorous white gown, which appears to have been pulled straight from the bridal racks.

Rude! Reddit users are shaming a mother of the groom for wearing a bridal gown to her son’s wedding in a seemingly obvious attempt to pull focus from the bride

The mother of the groom’s dress is considerably glitzier than the bride’s, and also features a sheer cutout down the length of the torso, revealing a provocative hint of skin.

It’s unknown how the bride reacted to the wardrobe choice, but Redditors are angry on her behalf.

‘It’s…a wedding dress. Also more revealing than the bride’s dress, hitting two no-nos with one stone,’ wrote one.

‘Oh good lord. She’s just making a fool of herself. I would frame the photo and give it to her to take to work,’ said another.

‘I like how the son is angled away from her but she still clearly has her arm around him. Congrats on alienating your son for life!’ wrote a third.

‘I’d be super upset,’ one more chimed in. ‘Especially since the MIL’s dress is prettier(imo) and more revealing. The only way this is acceptable is if the bride explicitly okay this dress beforehand. Even then, the MIL asking for permission to do so would be pretty ballsy.’

Yet another accused the mother-in-law of being ‘one jealous, insecure b****,’ while one more called her dress ‘absolutely inappropriate to wear at any wedding.’

Others called the mother-in-law ‘disrespectful,’ a ‘scumbag,’ a ‘cheap tacky floozy,’ and ‘appalling.’

Some suggested spilling wine on her dress.

Unfortunately, this is hardly the first time that a mother-in-law has muscled in on the bride’s special day by insisting to wear a white dress.

Earlier this year, an image from a wedding believed to be in South America surfaced on the That’s It, I’m Wedding Shaming (Non Ban happy) Facebook group.

‘This was on a local newspaper where the rich like to brag about their expensive parties. The newspaper printed the names, and then someone put the caption “when your MIL hates you,”‘ revealed the woman who shared it to the wedding shaming group.

In the wedding picture, which was shared in a local newspaper before making it online, the bride and her mother-in-law each stand on one side of the groom, holding his arm.

The bride, standing on the left, picked a strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline and a gem-encrusted belt. She paired the dress with drop earrings and a veil.

On the right side of the photo, the mother-in-law, is seeing wearing a nearly identical dress with bigger earrings and no veil.

Horrified wedding enthusiasts vilified the mother-in-law for wearing same gown, saying it looked like she wanted to marry her own son.

‘I would’ve had security kick her out,’ one said.

‘I’d dip dye that s*** in pinot noir,’ another said.

‘I thought it was a double wedding, and then I read the caption and it took a second for me to figure out who the bride was,’ one more wrote.

‘A mean in law can be worse than a hopeless husband. This is sooooo wrong,’ yet another commented.

In 2019, another unidentified mother-in-law was pictured wearing a light-colored floor-length lace dress to her son’s wedding.

A ‘distant member of the family’ shared an image of the bride and mother-in-law together to a wedding shaming group on Facebook, pointing out that the mother-in-law’s dress even had the same sleeves as the bride’s.

The mother-in-law’s dress had a snug fit, a plunging neckline with a sheer inlay, and looked very clearly bridal

It quickly became apparent that others would have despised this turn of events at their own nuptials, with some commenters suggesting it was ‘a murderous offense’.

‘I wouldn’t have any pictures with her or any taken of her. That’s so disrespectful to the bride and groom,’ one person said.

‘Also yes, it’s ice blue, but it’s still horribly wrong for a mother-in-law to wear at the wedding. It still looks like a bridal gown. My MIL wore ice blue too but it was clearly not a bridal gown,’ another said.
