Married At First Sight star Jason Engler, 35, leaves viewers baffled as he struggles to cook spaghetti bolognese for wife Alana Lister
He wanted to make spaghetti bolognese for his wife Alana Lister on Tuesday’s Married At First Sight, in order to show her his ‘softer side’.
But viewers were left baffled at Jason Engler’s terrible attempt at cooking the incredibly basic dish, which he managed to mess up within minutes.
‘I don’t cook, I usually microwave,’ the 35-year-old warned viewers, before stumbling around for ingredients.

He firstly tried to cut an onion with the brown skin still on, before slopping in a jar of sauce in with his minced meat and raw mushrooms.
‘Hmmm’, the construction estimator said in disbelief, as he slapped the ingredients flat in the pan with a spatula.
He then stared blankly as he dumped an entire packet of spaghetti into a pan, ‘stuffing up the timing’ so it stuck to the bottom.

‘You’re the first person I’ve ever cooked spaghetti bolognese for, it’s my specialty now!’ he proudly said upon Alana’s arrival home, before whacking a huge clump of coriander on the finished dish for good measure.

After feeding it to Alana, she politely rated the dish a ‘nine out of 10’ to his face.
‘It didn’t really taste very nice, but it was so nice that he made it!’ she later told the camera.
