Chris Pratt, 41, is ‘grateful’ to Hollywood even though it’s full of ‘weirdos’

Chris Pratt honored his humble beginnings as he kicked off production on his latest series.

The 41-year-old actor took to his Instagram on Tuesday to share an emotional post about how ‘grateful’ he is for the trajectory of his career.

‘It’s hard to believe. 20 years ago I was a dude with a dream living in a van. I moved to LA with one sweater, two pairs of shorts and some rollerblades in a duffel bag,’ he captioned a photo of a clapperboard from the set of his new series The Terminal List.

‘Yesterday we began principal photography on “The Terminal List” Based in the best selling Jack Carr novel, and coming soon to Amazon. Antoine Fuqua is absolutely killing it!! (We last worked together on Magnificent 7.) This is the first of many projects coming through my producing entity, Indivisible Productions,’ he started the lengthy post.

‘I look around and see the trailers, the trucks, the cast and crew, hundreds of masked and shielded Angelenos getting back to work, adhering strictly to our covid protocols, and I look at the mountain of work ahead of us and my heart just swells,’ the heartfelt message continued.

‘Needless to say, this town has been good to me. I’m grateful. Hollywood gets a bad wrap. We have our share of weirdos and no shortage of whackos. But it makes room for talent, hard work and a willingness to never be stop learning,’ Pratt added.

‘I’m still hungry, eager to grow and determined to surprise you. Take my word for it, James Reece is a one rowdy mother f——er. Get ready!,’ he concluded.

Constance Wu, Taylor Kitsch and Riley Keough also star in Amazon’s action-thriller show, based on the best-selling 2018 novel by Jack Carr, which has spawned a book series. 

The series follows James Reece (Pratt), who returns home to his family after his Navy SEAL team was ambushed, leaving him with conflicting memories of the assault. 

Chris first moved to Los Angeles at nineteen after being discovered by a director while waiting tables at a Bubba Gump’s restaurant in Hawaii.

He started snagging roles in teen television hits like Everwood and The O.C., but he first garnered attention for his work on the long-running comedy series Parks and Recreation.

The Minnesota native became a box office force with starring parts in blockbusters like Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World, as well as their respective sequels.

He reportedly earned $10 million to sign on to the most recent Jurassic World picture, with another still on its way.

Chris is married to author Katherine Schwarzenegger and the pair welcomed their daughter Lyla Maria in August of 2020.

He has spent most of this year doing his action star duties in Australia to film Thor: Love And Thunder.
