She’s been adjusting to life as a mother-of-two ever since welcoming her baby son earlier this month with partner Andrew Parsons.

And Rebecca Adlington cosied up to her newborn son Albie and daughter Summer, five, as she marked International Women’s Day with a sweet snap on Instagram on Monday.

The former competitive swimmer, 32, appeared in great spirits as she doted on her little one, while her mini-me – who returned to school for the first time in two months – gave her a big hug.

Dressing down, the Olympian sported a grey cardigan and black trousers, while Albie wore an animal print baby-grow.

The gold medallist proved less is more as she went make-up free and wore her tresses loose. 

Earlier in the day, Rebecca documented Summer’s return to the classroom, writing: ‘Summer so excited for today!! She had put her uniform on, made her bed and was ready to go by 6.45AM. Happy 1st day back at school.’

The media personality married her ex Harry in 2014 and split in 2016, after 18 months of marriage. 

Rebecca and Andrew have been dating since January 2018 after they met through the dating app Bumble and moved in together last summer.

It has not been the easiest journey for the Nottinghamshire native, as she previously revealed in November that she was left unable to walk when she fell down the stairs and injured her ankle.

The blonde told how she was ‘in pain and swollen’ after a particularly hard week and explained she fell down ‘some steps’ on to her ankle.

Rebecca also spoke about the difficulties of having a child amid the coronavirus pandemic, confessing that she felt ‘disconnected’ from others due to current restrictions, and was terrified at the prospect of welcoming her child alone.
