England records another 185 Covid hospital deaths in preliminary figures 

A further 185 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital in England, the NHS said today.

A total of 84,276 people have now died in hospitals in England since the start of the pandemic.

The preliminary figures show those who died were between 42 and 96, and all but six had known underlying health conditions. 

There were 40 further deaths reported with no positive Covid-19 test result.
