RHONH fans are upset after the series misleads viewers about Melissa Gorga’s cheating

Fans of the long-running reality TV series The Real Housewives Of New Jersey were up in arms after feeling like they had been duped with Wednesday’s episode.

The series originally hinted at a cheating storyline for star Melissa Gorga, 41, in a preview that aired back in January.

But Wednesday’s episode left viewers feeling salty after it revealed that the storyline was just a prank played on Joe Gorga.

Fooled: Fans of The Real Housewives Of New Jersey were angered to learn in Wednesdays episode that previews suggesting Melissa Gorga, 41, cheated on her husband Joe Gorga were misleadingly edited; Melissa and Joe seen in 2016

Multiple fans accused the series of using misleading editing in the first trailer to give the false impression that Melissa was going to be cheating on her husband in season 11.

The season preview opened with a dramatic confrontation in black and white, as one of the housewives says in voiceover, ‘Everyone’s marriage could look absolutely perfect on the outside.

‘But guess what? Things aren’t always what they seem. Anyone can be a cheater,’ they continue.

Melissa is then seen walking across a deck and dramatically shouting, ‘It was all a dream, until it wasn’t!’

Later in the preview, Melissa’s sister-in-law Teresa Giudice shares more details with friends that makes it sound like her eye has wandered.

‘Last night, the owner of the restaurant asked Melissa for her number! They’ve been texting all day,’ she says.

As she shares that information, Melissa is shown texting on her phone in the same dramatic black and white.

But the jig was up after a preview that aired Wednesday night gave it away during the opening voiceover.

‘The ladies prank Joe,’ the announcer says jubilantly.

This time around, Joe is shown comically mentioning the restaurant owner trying to get Melissa phone number during a confessional interview.

The whole tone of the preview is more playful, even down to the music.

One user brought up Jennifer Aydin’s allegations during the episode along with the cheating rumors.

Jennifer claimed that her friend Michelle Pais said Joe Gorga owed her husband a significant amount of money after he never paid for some motivational speeches worth ‘tens of thousands’ of dollars.

Melissa and Joe haven’t yet commented on those allegations, but previews for next week’s episode indicate that Jennifer will bring the topic up with Melissa.
