Danica Patrick takes introspective approach after her ex Aaron Rodgers announces new engagement

Danica Patrick took to Instagram Tuesday with a powerful statement about life expectations, perceptions and happiness, following news that her former beau, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, has gotten engaged to actress Shailene Woodley.

The NASCAR alum, 38, posted a series of shots she took from Egyptian temples as she visited the country for a two-week vacation.

She wrote: ‘Temples. I thought a lot about this word when I was in Egypt. What kept coming through in all of my thoughts, meditations, and in my innate knowing…. the word is an analogy. For our inner temple.’

The Wisconsin-born beauty wrote that ‘there are a million simple sayings and ideas to prove why YOUR inner temple in so important.

‘You don’t see things as they are, you see them as you are. Your relationships are mirrors.’

The one-time race car driver said that ‘we see all of life through our own personal lens,’ with a series of philosophical stances she took in her life.

She wrote: ‘We can’t receive what we don’t believe; What you seek is seeking you, You get what you think you deserve; When you change, things you see change; Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.’

Patrick, who split last summer with Rodgers, 37, after dating for almost two years, advised her 784K followers to ‘stop looking for a religious structure or person or home or a job or a city or a partner to make make you feel better … simply because it won’t work! I have tried!’

Patrick wrote she ‘would love to see temples here and now to cultivate our ability to build our inner temples … and to remember our magical abilities (supernatural power over natural forces).’

She added, ‘Us humans have been playing small for a while….. and if you don’t believe me, go to Egypt.’

Woodley, 29, confirmed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon February 22 that she and the NFL veteran were engaged.

‘Everybody right now is freaking out over it and we’re like, “Yeah, we’ve been engaged for a while,’ she said, calling the gridiron star ‘just a wonderful, incredible human being.’

Speaking with E! News in August 2019, she opened up on the prospects of exchanging vows with the Super Bowl champ.

‘I mean, I would hope that’s the intention,’ she said. ‘Look, there’s no guarantees in life, but as long as you have that intention, that’s what matters, right?’

Rodgers was previously linked to actress Olivia Munn, while Patrick was married to Paul Hospenthal for seven years prior to their November 2012 parting, and subsequently was seeing NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. before dating Rodgers.
