Could she return to Summer Bay? Kate Ritchie says she ‘still misses Home and Away desperately’

She is best known for her iconic role as Sally Fletcher on the Aussie soap opera Home and Away.

And in a new interview with WHO Magazine, actress-turned-radio star Kate Ritchie hinted she may return to Summer Bay. 

The actress reflected on her time on the popular Channel 7 show, and said she will always be attached to Sally.  

‘I will always feel attached to Home and Away,’ she told the publication. 

‘How could I not? It trained and nurtured me. It offered me some of the most wonderful years of my life and, for a long time, defined who I was.’

The NOVA FM star added that she is often nostalgic about the memories she experienced on-set.    

‘Even now, with some distance from those days and having had the chance to develop into my own person without the security blanket of Sally, I still miss it  desperately,’ she said. 

‘But I also realise I’ll never be able to recreate that time, nor do I need to.’ 

Kate’s admission comes less than a few weeks after he reunited with former co-star Isla Fischer.

Earlier this month, the pair, who launched their careers on the TV drama reunited at Isla’s 45th birthday party in Sydney.

Kate thrilled fans on Instagram by sharing a selfie of the duo, which she captioned: ‘Still making me giggle like a naughty teenager after all these years… Thank you, Isla.’ 

‘You are one of the best,’ she added, alongside cake and love-heart emojis. 

Kate wore a white patterned blouse, while Isla opted for a pink floral mini dress.

Isla, who has had huge success in Hollywood, joined the cast of Home and Away in 1994 at the age of 19. 

She left the show in 1997, then moved to America.

Her big break came in 2005 with the release of romantic comedy Wedding Crashers, also starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. 

Kate made her debut on Home and Away in 1987 at the tender age of eight, and officially left the soap in 2008.
