Amanda Holden transforms into the Queen of Hearts in a dipped hem dress and spiked crown as she celebrates World Book Day at Heart FM

She’s been entertaining listeners with her fun-filled antics at work throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

And Amanda Holden played dress up as she marked World Book Day during her Heart Breakfast show on Thursday.

The TV and radio presenter, 50, channelled her inner Disney monarch as she transformed into Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, while co-stars Ashley Roberts and Jamie Theakston became Alice and The Mad Hatter respectively.

Putting on a leggy display, the Britain’s Got Talent judge wore a card-inspired dress, complete with a dramatic collar and dipped hemline.

The mother-of-two boosted her figure in black ankle boots, while a spiked crown served as her key accessory.

Amanda maintained the red theme by sporting classic lipstick and drew a small black heart underneath her left eye.

Strutting down the Global Studios office, the former actress served herself some tea as she emulated the fictional character, who was played by Helena Bonham Carter in Tim Burton’s 2010 live action film.

The 2010 movie is loosely based on the famous 1865 novel of the same name by author Lewis Carroll, as well as the first film adaptation in 1951. 

World Book Day has been observed on the first Thursday in March since 1995 in the UK.

A set of books are released for £1 each year, with Tom Fletcher’s There’s a Wolf in Your Book and Luna Loves World Book Day written by Joseph Coelho leading this year’s line-up.

Amanda celebrated her milestone 50th birthday last month, and thanked her husband Chris Hughes and daughters Lexi, 15, and Hollie, nine, for making her day special. 

The TV star wrote on Instagram: ‘How did this happen! Half a century… time flies! Thank you for all your kind & loving messages today. My husband Chris and my gorgeous girls have spoiled me rotten and it’s still going. 

‘My friends have sent the most hilarious messages & presents and made this day extra special.’ (sic)

The media personality and the record producer tied the knot at St Margaret’s Church in Somerset back in December 2008.
