The songstress described how she  went into the bathroom to calm her nerves before meeting Madonna, who had come to visit because Rita was doing a campaign for her clothing line.

‘I loved it and then I just couldn’t breathe and [Madonna] was like, “This is just not my light, let’s get down,” and I thought, “What? What’s happening?’ and so we did… whatever she says, we were going to do.”

Jimmy replied: ‘Well she’s Madonna, the one and only’.

Rita was on the show to talk about her new EP Bang and her role as a coach on The Voice Australia.

The hitmaker – who has just completed her mandatory 14-day quarantine after jetting to Oz from England – recently spoke out after meeting her fellow judges Keith Urban, Jessica Mauboy and Guy Sebastian for the first time in Sydney.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, the singer said: ‘I’m really grateful to have been invited here to be a part of The Voice this year. I can’t wait to be able to mentor the amazing talent out here, let’s go.’

Rita landed in Australia at the beginning of last month, after flying over from her home in London to appear on the panel.
