Melissa Rawson revealed she’d had a 12-year affair with a married man on Wednesday’s episode of Married At First Sight.
The 31-year-old’s bombshell confession left her ‘husband’ Bryce Ruthven stunned as she revealed their romance only ended a year ago.
Participants on the hit reality show were tasked with writing letters to their spouses, confessing something they were deeply ashamed of.

A nervous Melissa sat down with Bryce, 31, to confess everything about her relationship with her ex.
‘I regret allowing my past relationship to continue to prevent me from moving forward in my 20’s,’ she read from the letter.
‘My ex and I never ever got back together, however over the years, he’s remained a friend and we’ve been intimate.’

Taking a moment to process her confession, Bryce then asked Melissa how long the affair lasted.
‘Up until a year ago,’ she told him quietly.
Doing the math, a shocked Bryce couldn’t believe that Melissa had kept her ex around ‘for 12 years’.
‘My ex and I never ever got back together, however over the years, he’s remained a friend and we’ve been intimate,’ she told Bryce
‘You went back there. Because this happened for 12 years, it says that there’s still feelings there, big or small, regardless,’ Bryce told her.
He added: ‘That’s why you haven’t met someone, because those feelings were there for 12 years.’
He then asked Melissa if her ex had ‘had a girlfriend in that time’, and she confessed he was married.

‘He’s married?’ Bryce asked incredulously.
‘I didn’t realise he was married at the time. He didn’t tell me,’ she quickly added.
Bryce then asked if their affair had taken place ‘while he was married’, and Melissa responded: ‘I think so.’
‘That was a real surprise to me, actually. I’m not here to judge, but at the same time, I kind of am, and it’s like, “Why the hell would you do that?”‘ he later said
Still reeling from Melissa’s confession, Bryce laughed darkly and said: ‘It’s kind of like, what the f**k?’

‘To be completely honest, I’m a little bit p**sed off. Is there actually still feelings here for this guy or are you desperate for that kind of action? I don’t know.’
Scandalous: Bryce then asked if their affair had taken place ‘while he was married’, and Melissa responded: ‘I think so’
Melissa branded the man her ‘first love’, but insisted she was over him, despite Bryce questioning whether she really was.
‘I never had any luck with meeting anybody in my 20’s, so it was just convenient that he would reach out to me during a low period or when I was lacking confidence in myself,’ she explained.
‘It was only when I turned 30 that I went, “This is completely unhealthy and if he wanted to be with me, he would have. He would have said that.”‘
