Krya’s father, who is American, asks the child to say ‘down’, which she does.

Her mother, who is from Belfast asks her to repeat the word and she does so in a thick northern accent pronouncing it as ‘dow-en’.

They then repeat the exercise with the word towel – which is elongated to ‘tow-elle’.

Her parents then get her to say mouse, which ends up as ‘m-owse’.

Even a simple word such as now is turned into ‘n-oi’.

Eventually they speed through a few words such as cow and power – which loses its second syllable in Belfast, by being turned into ‘pawr’.

In the final few moments of the video, Kyra is asked ‘who speaks properly, mummy or daddy?’

Kyra responds: ‘Mummy.’

The family live in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and this footage was filmed on February 23.
