Rebel Wilson celebrates her ‘Australian and American birthdays’ as she turns 41

Rebel Wilson celebrated her 41st birthday on Tuesday. 

And the Sydney-born actress revealed she was celebrating the occasion over two days because of the time difference between America and Australia. 

The Pitch Perfect star explained she was celebrating her ‘Australian birthday’ first, before doing it all over again once it’s Tuesday in the U.S.

‘Australian Birthday today. American Birthday tomorrow,’ she wrote on Instagram.  

Rebel went on to say she was ‘grateful’ for her ‘exciting life’, then revealed how much she’d had to ‘overcome’ in her working life.

‘I’m so grateful and lucky to have lived such an exciting life so far. Thank you to everyone who’s been a part of it and taught me so many valuable lessons,’ she wrote.

‘If you guys knew the shy unremarkable me from Sydney’s western suburbs, you’d know how much I had to overcome in my life to get to this point…

‘And then against all odds, and with the visionary help of a malaria-induced hallucination became a successful international actress/writer/producer!’ 

In the accompanying photo, Rebel posed in brightly coloured activewear. 

Last month, Rebel revealed she was excited about the future as she prepares to start filming and producing the comedy movie Senior Year.

The comedian shared a photo to Instagram of herself posing next to a car, and wrote: ‘Looking forward to all that’s ahead!’

According to Deadline, Senior Year is about a cheerleader who wakes up from a 20-year-long coma and returns to high school to claim the prom queen crown.
