Katie Price’s son Harvey, 18, launches inspirational charity clothing range

Katie Price’s son Harvey has launched an inspirational  charity clothing range to raise awareness about autism.

The talented 18-year-old’s range with autism aware clothing brand Born Anxious pays homage to his beloved frogs and is designed to be comfortable and secure for those who have the developmental disorder.

Harvey himself is on the autism spectrum and was born with disabilities including partial blindness, ADHD and Prader-Willi syndrome.

His range – which includes basketball vest and shorts, t-shirts, jogging trousers, hoodies, and recycled messenger bags, all have his frog logo printed on the front.

The garments can be adapted to include messages on the front, such as  ‘I don’t like loud noise’, ‘Autism Army’, ‘Bee Kind’, ‘I’m anxious’ and ‘I have autism.’

The profits from the Harvey range will be divided equally between Harvey’s personal trust fund, the Anna Kennedy Online charity founded by Katie’s close pal, and Born Anxious.

On launching the new clothing range, proud mum Katie, 42, said, ‘I am really happy for Harvey to release his own official range of clothing which celebrates his love of frogs and also a way of donating to Anna Kennedy’s charity and raise autism awareness through the Born Anxious clothing label.

Anna Kennedy OBE, founder of the Anna Kennedy Online charity added; ‘I’m so proud of Harvey as one of our Charity Ambassadors sharing his love of frogs on his new, Born Anxious clothing range.

‘We really appreciate the donations going to our charity which are very much appreciated during these difficult times.’

Kellie Barker, owner of Born Anxious added: ‘I was first introduced to Katie and Harvey through our ambassador Anna Kennedy OBE, an amazing lady who has dedicated her life promoting inclusion and equality of children and adults with an Autism Spectrum condition.

‘A friendship grew and we decided to design a collection of clothing that is a celebration of all things autism, to support each other and to recognise Harvey’s love of frogs!’

Last week Katie took to Instagram to tease the new line, as she penned: ‘Not long to go now… Harvey’s new collection will be launching very soon so keep a look out’.

Harvey’s collection features a selection of loose-fitting comfy styles and a basketball vest with his name adorned across the back.

Katie’s news of the upcoming collection comes after it was reported that she is searching once again for a suitable residential college for Harvey, after fearing her current choice is too far away and she won’t be able to ‘immediately help him’.

Her pal and autism campaigner, Anna Kennedy OBE, said she feels she has ‘exhausted all possibilities’ while trying to help the TV star, 42, find a local facility.

Katie applied for her son – who is on the autism spectrum – to go to the National Star College in Cheltenham and will discover if he is successful next month.

Anna, 60, said to The Sun on Tuesday: ‘She wants to see a few more just to make sure it’s the right place for him because this particular one is a three hour drive, so it’s quite a trek.

‘She hadn’t even thought about that. She said ‘I’ll be there, I’ll be able to help him’, but I said, ‘if Harvey’s three hours away from you he could already be in the unit by the time you get there.”

According to Anna, who is the mother of two autistic sons, Katie has been combing over 86 different college options and wants to visit them in person, but is struggling to do so due to current lockdown restrictions

She added: ‘She wants to know if there are any more colleges I can think of, but I think I’ve exhausted all the possibilities now.’

Due to Harvey’s health conditions, Katie is looking for a residential college which can fulfill his educational requirements and living needs.

The autism campaigner said she has encouraged the mother-of-five to keep her options open due to cuts in local authority budgets.

Anna said she expects the reality star might need to ‘fight for funding’ or go to a tribunal if a place at National Star College is the best option, a decision which she wholeheartedly supports.
