It’s arguably the most highly anticipated director’s cut of a previously released film in cinema history.

And new details have emerged surrounding Zack Snyder’s Justice League, ahead of its March 18th premiere on HBO Max.

According to IGN, the new, extended version of the 2017 DC superhero ensemble film will clock in at 242 minutes, or four hours and two minutes.

The movie, commonly referred to as The Snyder Cut, will feature main stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg and Ezra Miller as The Flash.

The film will also welcome a newly filmed cameo from Jared Leto as The Joker, as well as more of Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke.

There was previously some speculation that the new version of the film would be released in installments, akin to a miniseries, due to its lengthy runtime.

However the announcement came some months ago that the Snyder Cut would indeed be released as a single, standalone film in both theaters where available as well as on the HBO Max streaming platform.

The movie will be organized in a six-chapter structure, according to Snyder, with chapter 1 titled Don’t Count On It Batman and Chapter 2 called The Age of Heroes.

‘To me, [Cyborg’s backstory is] such an important part of the movie, and his whole arc and journey is so important,’ he told the outlet. ‘There was just really cool stuff that we shot and that we created that I was really excited for fans to see.’

Fisher, most famous for playing the role in multiple DC films, has been outspoken regarding his improper treatment by Warner Brothers and director Joss Whedon, who replaced Snyder on the original version of the movie back in 2016.

Nonetheless, Snyder maintains that Cyborg will absolutely be central to the film: ‘Everything turns on him, everything turns on the stakes that are presented to him, the events that befall him within the context of the film.’

Zack also teased that his cut of the film will end on ‘a massive cliffhanger’.
