Boy, four, plunges down gap between steel walkway and lorry while trying to help his farmer grandfather at work

- But as he tried to lift the ramp up he missed the end of the podium and fell down
- His parents say he wasn’t hurt but was ‘absolutely filthy’ after landed in a muddy puddle
Heart-stopping footage shows a four-year-old ‘lucky’ tot miraculously survive a dramatic fall unscathed – as he plummeted between a steel walkway and a truck while trying to help his grandad at work.
When Josh Cann joined his grandad Roger, 63, for the first time on a work trip transporting livestock to Exeter Market on February 19 he was keen to help out as much as possible.
In startling footage, the youngster can be seen grinning wildly as he helps his beloved grandad round up the final few lambs before running down the ramp.

Roger, along with Josh’s mum Angela, 36, then lift the ramp to keep the sheep safe inside, with both of them keen to make sure his grandson isn’t in the way.
But all of a sudden, Josh runs up to help with the final push and completely misses the end of the podium – disappearing from view as he drops off the end with his hands in the air.
Despite plummeting down a drop that was bigger than him, the boy ‘bounced back up’ with only a slight bruise though was covered in mud after landing in a puddle.
Mum-of-two Angela said: ‘We were loading lambs at Exeter Market and it was Josh’s first time unloading sheep. I was really surprised with how well he was doing until he fell.

‘I did tell him to get back out of the way of the ramp but then he came running back to help close the truck properly.
‘We didn’t even see him, it wasn’t until me and his grandad looked down and saw him that we realised what had happened.
‘It was about the same height as Josh, it was a fair drop. I wouldn’t have jumped down it myself. He was lucky he didn’t get hurt.
‘He was absolutely fine, he had a little bruise on his leg. He bounced back up pretty much immediately. He was absolutely filthy as he landed in a muddy puddle.
‘There was a little bit of shock but then he wanted to help with the sheep straight away. He got up, brushed the mud off himself and asked “can we load more lambs”.
‘It’s not put him off going at all. Every day he keeps saying he wants to go to the market. He’s very outdoorsy and loves to know everything.

‘When we watched the video back, we did laugh just at the way his arms flew into the air when he fell.’
After footage of Josh’s fall was uploaded to social media, people were quick to call the tough kid a ‘legend’ and ‘trooper’ for bouncing straight back up from his fall.
One person said: ‘He brushed himself off and carried on! True legend.’
Another wrote: ‘What a trooper.’
One commenter simply said: ‘Bet he got a shock. I had to laugh when he just disappeared.’
