Patrick Schwarzenegger talks about going to his father Arnold Schwarzenegger for acting advice

Patrick Schwarzenegger is opening up about going to his famous father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, for acting advice.

The 27-year-old on of the 73-year-old action icon and Maria Shriver stars in the upcoming Echo Boomers, where he spoke about going to his father on the Smallzy’s Celebrity Small Talk podcast. 

The younger Schwarzenegger was asked if his father likes to ‘show him how its done,’ though he said his father doesn’t, but he still goes to him for advice.

‘No, he doesn’t. You know, if I have questions or if I had advice or want to hear what he has to say, I ask but otherwise no. I wouldn’t say so,’ he said.

Patrick started acting with a small role in The Benchwarmers at the age of 10, though he added he always knew his dad was a star. 

‘I think from some age I understood the magnitude of his celebrity, his name and power. Then when he ran for governor and everything. So, yeah I knew,’ he added.

He added his father is, ‘very straight-forward. He is what you see. He doesn’t beat around the bush. He is who he is and he’s not afraid to speak his mind.’

Patrick revealed his new movie Echo Boomers is an, ‘amazing fun heist thriller’ about a group of millennials who pull off heists to pay off their student loans.

While the movie is out on digital, he revealed he hasn’t been on a movie set in nearly a year.

‘In about one month from now, it’ll be a year since I’ve been on a film set. You guys have your s*** together. Our government doesn’t,’ he added.

‘I think movie sets are actually closed down right now. It’s not great here in LA, I wouldn’t suggest coming out here. My COVID experience has been … I always prioritize my health and my family’s health at the top,’ he continued.

He added that he hasn’t gotten sick and his family hasn’t gotten sick, adding they’re ‘very careful.’

He said he gets tested ‘all the time’ and he just sticks with his ‘close group of friends’ which has helped keep him safe.

The younger Schwarzenegger will next be seen in the upcoming Moxie from director Amy Poehler, which debuts on Netflix starting March 3.

He also stars in Warning with Alice Eve, Annabelle Wallis, Thomas Jane and Kylie Bunburry, which doesn’t have a release date quite yet.
